Our Graduates

We have been very fortunate over the years to have students audition and be awarded places at professional schools, colleges and universities around the country. We are so very proud of them all and endeavour to keep up to date with where they are and what they are doing

Graduates of 2015
Charlotte Bagnall
Charlotte auditioned and was offered a place at Ballet West to focus on further ballet training. She danced with SJ from a young age, competing in many festivals and performances and we are very proud of her achevements. We look forward to hearing her news.

Libby Kenley
Libby successfully auditioned and was awarded a place on a 3 year MT course at Bird College. She began in September 2015 and we are enjoying having her visit regularly and assist with choreography and lessons. Congratulations!

Molly Hogben
Molly trained with SJ from a young age and took on many lead rolls in our school shows. She auditioned and took up a place at Wilks academy last September for a 3 year Musical Theatre course. We wish her all the best for the future.

Amber Adams
Amber successfully auditioned for Wilks academy and begun her 3 year training in September. She trained with SJ from an eary age and we are proud of her achievements. 

 Graduates of 2014

Ella Newton
Ella has just begun her training at White Lodge, the Royal Ballet Lower School. She trained with SJ Academy from the age of 4 and after a tough audition process was successfully awarded her place as one of only twelve in year 7. She is in regular contact and we enjoy hearing her news when she pops home.

Chancey Gregory
Chancey auditioned and was awarded a place at Bird College of Dance. She has trained with the SJ academy of Dance from an early age and achieved her advanced levels with us in all disciplines. We are very proud of all her achievements and are delighted that she has just returned to come and teach with us.

Kate Blakey
Kate came to SJ Academy only a few years ago to build on her previous training and to gain experience in other disciplines. She performed with us at local festivals and achieved her exams in all disciplines. She successfully auditioned to go to Bird College of Dance in Sidcup and is keeping us posted on her second year.

Amber Weyman
Amber has headed off to Scotland after being awarded a place at Ballet West. Amber has always been dedicated to ballet and we are so pleased that they have given her the opportunity to pursue this. She was a lovely student and is sorely missed. We wish her well and hope to keep up to date with all her opportuntities

Ellena Clements 

After a very successful run of auditions Ellena was accepted by five vocational dance colleges to study either on the 3 year diploma or the foundation course and at Chichester University to study a musical theatre degree, as well as being chosen by the London College of Music to study on a performance and composition degree without auditioning or applying. Eventually she chose to go to Bird College of Dance to study on the one year pre-professional foundation course in dance and musical theatre.

Rachel Humphreys
Rachel gained a place at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a scholarship after studying at SJ Academy of Dance from the age of 3. She studied a BA Modern Ballet for 3 years where she took classes in Ballet, Contemporary, Pas de Deux, Pilates and Repertoire. She worked very closely with the Scottish Ballet. Rachel has just graduated from the Scottish conservatoire and has been offered a job at the mystic ballet company in America

Emma-Louise Stansall
Emma-Louise Stansall achieved a place on the diploma at Urdang Academy and choose to go to Bird College of Dance on the pre-vocational foundation course to study dance and musical theatre. She is now on the 3 year full time course and continue to do well.

Chloe Hammerton
Chloe was awarded a place at Performers in Essex and Wilkes Academy in Swindon and has now graduated to gain a Diploma in musical theatre.

Amber O'Rourke
Amber was awarded a place on the Urdang Degree Course and at Laine Theatre Arts to study Musical Theatre. She has recently graduated with Merit in Level 6 Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre , Laines College Diploma and DDI in Ballet and Modern She continues to teach with SJ Academy of Dance and is in regular contact. She would like to thank all the teachers for their encouragement and fantastic training over the years.

Claudia Speed
Claudia has been studying at Laine Theatre Arts since September 2013 and has now graduated. We wish her well in the future

Fraser Buchanan
Fraser came to study at SJ Academy to further his ballet training before he successfully auditioned for both contemporary and ballet schools around the country. He was successful at both Laben and Ballet Rambert where he chose to take up the 3 year course.

Graduates of 2012
Louis Scrivener
Louis is currently in his third year at the Royal Ballet's lower school White Lodge. He achieved his place through much hard work and has gone on to perform in both 2012 and 2013 with the Royal Ballet company in their performances or the Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House, London. He continues to do well and we have recieved some lovely reports of his progress from the teachers. He has recently been awarded th acolade of head boy - well done!!

Rika Tharme
Rika Tharme studied for a year at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet in New York, before moving into a trainee position at the Atlanta Ballet in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She is currently dancing in London.

Daisy Lowe
Daisy Lowe received DaDAs to Bird College and Laine Theatre Arts. She has now graduated from Laines and is currently staring in Mamma Mia on The Allure of the Seas in which she will be playing the part of Al.

Laura Colclough
Laura succesfully auditioned for Bird College and was awarded a place at Laine Theatre Arts at the age of 16. She has now graduated and has joined the cast of 'Cats' playing Rumpleteaser on the Royal Carribean's Oasis of the Seas.

Courtney  Williams
Courtney took further study at Birds having come to SJ Academy of Dance from dancing mainly Disco. She recieved a full scholorship to Millenium before accepting her place at Bird College in London.

Abigail Warner
Abigail successfully auditioned for a place at Italie Conti Performing Arts school in London which she has now successfully completed.

Francesca Bunce

Frankie has just graduated with a First Class Honours from the Guildford School of Acting on the BA Hons 3 Year Musical Theatre Course. After her well-reviewed final year musical theatre showcase at The Criterion Theatre in London, Frankie successfully gained representation from Hilary Gagan Associates. She made her West End debut whilst still in training in the Children of Eden Gala Concert at the Prince of Wales Theatre, and her highlights whilst at GSA include playing Charity in Sweet Charity and Trix in The Drowsy Chaperone. Frankie is currently working and auditioning in London, whilst continuing her work as a singing tutor in Surrey. Frankie would like to thank all the teachers, parents and students at SJ Academy who played such an integral role in getting her this far and is very proud to be a part of the SJ Alumni.

Saffron Armstrong
Saffron gained a place at Laine Theatre Arts and the Place as well as at Bird College where she has just completed her 3 year degree course. We look forward to watching her develop her career.

Jasmin Armstrong
Jasmin Armstrong BA (Hons) RAD RTS ARAD LRAD achieved a place at the Royal Academy of Dance in 2010 to study the BA (Hons) Ballet Education course. Whilst at the RAD, Jasmin achieved her RAD Advanced 2 ballet with a Merit. Since graduating in July, Jasmin has been approached to teach RAD, ISTD and Cecchetti Ballet at various schools across Central London including the prestigious Chelsea Ballet Schools, Chelsea and Kensington. Jasmin says she could not have achieved so much without the help and support and great training from all the lovely teachers at SJ Academy of Dance!

Sarah Childs
Sarah Childs trained at London Studio Centre for 3 years. Upon graduation she went on to play The role of 'Milly' in the TV series 'The Other Wife' alongside Rupert Everett and John Hannah. She can also be seen in various adverts such as Sony, Canon Camera and Channel 4.

Nicole Goller
Nicole graduated from Doreen Bird in 2012. Since then she has performed in various music videos including Wiley and other upcoming artists. She is currently travelling the world as Dance Captain on board various cruise liners. All of this would not have been possible without the versatile training and support she received from SJ Academy.

Emily Colclough
Emily auditioned for Laine Theatre Arts and successfuly completed the 3 year course before heading out on to the London audition circuit. She is currently on an American cruise liner working as a dancer.
